Beginning check the surrounding:

Depending on whether you are going to draw a Leo in jungle or cat in your apartment you should be painting the surrounding environment. For example when you are drawing a tiger in jungle some palm tree, a water body will make your drawing look more natural.

When drawing a domesticated cat addition of some furniture etc in your composition will make your drawing more realistic . Pay attention to surroundings. animals can be in various postures and some postures may be more difficult to draw than others. When getting started attempt to draw the simplest postures, when you mature you can draw more complicated postures with ease. We should keep it in mind and drawing them is basically converting the 3d objects to their 2d vision. So when attempting to draw an animal try to find out the basic 3d forms that the animal body is made of and put the 2d representation of those on paper then all the task you are left out with is adding the details step by step.
